How to measure your dog:

We encourage you to use our measurement guide to be sure that you select the right size for your dog.

1. Top Line - Measure from the middle of the shoulder blades along the back bone to the dock of the tail.

2. Girth -- Measure the distance around the girth from just behind the front legs.

Compare your dog's measurements with those listed in the size categories below to determine the most appropriate size for your dog. If your dog's measurements fit into more than one category, use the Top Line measurement alone to select the best size.

Note: We currently do not make  COATS specifically for short legged breeds such as Basset Hounds and Dachshunds.  However, we have had numerous customers purchase and modify the garments to fit their dogs.

Show Dogs:  Keeps dog’s coat clean and protected.  In many cases, reduces grooming time

Rehabilitation:  Helps keep dogs from bothering/irritating wounds, stitches, rashes and medicated areas located on body and legs
 Allergy: Skin allergies are a frequent reason for customers using the Lycra bodysuit. Allergies can be a frustrating, time consuming, and expensive problem. The constant licking, biting, chewing and anxiety can take a toll on the dog and the rest of the family. We have had many customers who have tried numerous medications (including Benedryl, and steroids), multiple diets and other homeopathic methods to control their dog’s allergies.

The Lycra Bodysuit has proven to be a great way to beat allergies. Although we cannot guarantee 100% effectiveness, we have found that the garment significantly reduces allergy symptoms in the vast majority of cases. We do not have any objective data to tell us why the garment works, but the results of our customers speak for themselves. Most Veterinarians have found that covering the dogs body will reduce irritation. We have not found a proven theory as to why this is true- but most vets in general agree with the premise. 

So, why not use a garment that:
1) Fits well 
2) Is comfortable
3) Covers almost the entire body
4) Is durable
5) Is fashionable
6) IS EFFECTIVE

If you have a dog with allergies, we encourage you to try our garment and see the results for yourself. Also, consult with your veterinarian about use and safety. We have not had any reported problems with extended use of the lycra bodysuit in dogs with even severe allergies. However, we recommend that any dog with a skin condition warrants special attention. Please start using the garment slowly and steadily increase duration of use. Regularly inspect the dog for any irritation.

Automobiles:  Reduces amount of dog hair, dander, dirt, stickers/burrs, and fleas left in your vehicles.

Please note: To cool themselves, dogs do not sweat. Instead they pant and release heat through their ears and feet. In fact, 90% of a dog's heat is lost through these three channels. The lycra bodysuit does not prohibit your dog from cooling himself. However, it is not intended for use in extreme heat conditions unless directed by your veterinarian.
